It is my experience with using an older program, Win97 (The same maker of Win500) and a different scanner that gives me enough background to use Win500 and program things into the Pro-106. I am very much hitting the highlights, but as I initially pointed out, I purchased my Pro-106 a few days ago. * There are quite a bit of details I am leaving out on programming the radio using the software. You can of course do everything manually, but personally I am happy to pay $35 for the Win500 Software and pay for the fixed term subscription to RadioReference to have access to the database. Thus, you may be able to turn off the lockout, or choose to scan that list/object again. Whomever previously programmed your Pro-106 "may" have loaded it up with local frequencies to you and simply locked out, or disabled a particular scan list/object you didn't want to monitor. Then you pick whatever you want and upload it where you want on the scanner. In the next step you narrow the options of the frequencies you want geographically country, state, county. I am not familiar with PSREdit, but using Win500 you can login to RadioReference then choose conventional, or trunked frequencies. Whichever program you use will allow you to add/delete/change things on the Pro-106. Both Win500 and PSREdit have a free to try time period, then you will need to purchase in order to use. I have not used PSREdit500, but I presume it works somewhat similar to Win500. Win500 Software (I use this particular program to add/delete/make changes) $35 Subscription to RadioReference Frequency Database (To download freqs via the Win500 program) If at all possible is there a video of how to do it online somewhere? If all fails I’ll try to make it the month scanner meet on Monday and they could help me, but if I can I would want to get it done on my own and not be a bother. I have the Orange Cat 20-047 cable programing cord and today I purchased the one year subscription to the programing feature of this web site. I was told that you can download the frequencies onto your radio but I have had no success with doing that. But now the guys who use to do that no longer work there and the people who work there now don’t have a clue about anything to do with scanners. In the past when I wanted to have the channels changed I always just went to Radioshack and they programmed it for me. I’m a police officer and normally get enough of the radio at work so I don’t bother much with it. I have had the scanner for a few years now and only use it when I hear the fire sirens going off in town and for weather. I’m trying to figure out how to add banks and channels to my Radioshack pro-106 digital trunking scanner. It also has a variety of features that make it a valuable tool for those who need to stay informed about what is happening in their area.Hi everyone, maybe this question has been addressed before but I can’t seem to find it.
